Permanent State Supervision of hazardous production facilities will be Introduced from the 1st of July

Permanent state supervision at hazardous production facilities and hydraulic facilities will be introduced in Russia from July 1, 2012. The corresponding decree was issued by Russian government on May, 5 and signed by Mr Vladimir Putin. Implementation of these powers will be RTN (Rostekhnadzor ).

This department is in charge in one month terms, to develop and approve rules for formation and maintenance of supervisory proceedings against hazardous industrial facilities and waterworks, which are objects of a constant state supervision. Rostekhnadzor and its territorial bodies will constantly monitor the compliance with safety rules and operation of hazardous facilities.

By the end of 2011, Russia had registered 298,000 hazardous industrial facilities and 38,000 hydraulic facilities. The category of hazardous production facilities of chemical, petrochemical and refining industries include manufacturing plants, products, tailings pond site air separation plants, oil-processing plants, sludge processing facilities, plants producing bitumen by oxidation, objects and special chemicals, etc.
